ATOL Protection Contribution (APC) from 1st April 2008

Guidance for Traveller users following the introduction of the ATOL Protection Contribution (APC) on 1st April 2008

ATOL Text on Documents

ATOL Text will need to be updated so that appropriate text is included on documents created after 1st April 2008. Please follow the steps below:

Users of Traveller version 6828 or later (How do I know which version I'm running?)

In Traveller, please follow the path below:

File -> System Utilities -> ATOL Text Maintenance

Update your ATOL Text as described below.

Users of Traveller version 6827 or earlier

Please download the separate ATOL Text Maintenance program. This will allow you to update your ATOL Text as described below.

1) Download this program on a PC that currently can access Traveller

2) Save this item to "C:\conctrav" as shown below :

FireFox

Internet Explorer

3) Once the item has downloaded Click start (bottom left), Run, and type "c:\conctrav\chk_ATOL.exe" Press OK when ready.

4) You will be presented with the same login screens you would normally get from Traveller (shown below).

5) From here on you will be presented with the screen shown here. Follow the instructions below. Once you've made all the changes you need to do you can actually delete the downloaded application. Please do not continue to use this temporary measure once your Traveller system has been updated.

Updating your ATOL Text

A window will open allowing you to select each category in turn and see the text which is currently set up against it. These correspond with the drop-down list which can be used within Payment Entry in Traveller.

Change the 'Fully Bonded' text to suit the new 'Public' Category
In future releases of Traveller, the 'Fully Bonded' Category will be re-named as 'Public'

Check the 'ATOL to ATOL Sale' text (if applicable). This Category remains unchanged

Check the 'Retail Agent' text

Check the 'None' Category does not contain any text

'Agency Bonded', 'Other Facilities' and 'Scheduled Bonded'

These will be phased out in future releases of Traveller as they now fall under the 'Public' Category. In the meantime, these should be set up to suit the new 'Public' Category, ie: the same as the 'Fully Bonded' text. This ensures that the new text will apply even if these categories are accidentally used before they are phased out.

Users with multiple Branches and/or multiple Traveller Data Sets

You will need to update the ATOL Text in each Branch and/or Data Set. To do this, re-start the ATOL Text Maintenance for each Branch / Data Set in turn and repeat the above process.

Payment Entry

In Traveller Payment Entry, make the appropriate selection from the ATOL Text (drop down selection):

'Fully Bonded' to print the text for the new Public Category

'ATOL to ATOL Sale' to print the text for the ATOL to ATOL Category

'Retail Agent' to print the text for Retail Agent

'None' to prevent any ATOL Text from printing

ATOL Text Not Printing

If the ATOL Text does not print on the documents, this will probably be because the *ATOLTEXT* Keyword is not included in your document layouts. Please select the 'Document Designer' option from the Options/Tools menu and check your document layouts

ATOL Return

CAA Bond Report

The existing CAA Bond report prints totals for the current categories at the end of the report. To obtain a total for the new Public category, please add the totals for the following categories:

We are planning to introduce a new, simplified, ATOL Report when full details of the requirements have been made available.
