Letter / Info sheet Rules : Config

Introduction

Traveller can pre select attachment sheets for you when using the global option for attachment sheets, this has always been possible using an on / off switch on the letter list in document designer. What this help page explains is how to extend this pre selection to a Letter rule which will only pre select items based on a set of user definable rules.

This can be useful if say for example the consultant is to remember to print a particular info sheet when producing a statement when certain circumstances arise, for example if the customer is traveling to a specific region of the world, or if the value of the transaction is above a specific value.

This document assumes you are using the attachment sheets in some way.

Configuration

To begin you will need some letters marked as info sheets as shown below in document designer:

What I plan to do is have this document produce whenever the booking has any item which travels to the US since I would like to remind passengers of specific policies or security implications which apply in this country. Some more ideas for rules are included at the end of this help page.

Next, I will need to make a rule to attach to this condition, so in document designer select the One off letter rules screen.

All letters which are marked as Info sheets will be shown here, when you first visit this screen nothing will have been setup so we will need to make a new rule. Select the correct branch and right click in the right had area to make a new rule.

A new screen will appear, this is the rules screen. Nothing will be setup here the first time you visit so right click in the top area and make a new rule.

You will be asked to name your rule and define a code for it, the code must be unique.

Click ok and your rule will be setup along with a default condition, expand the rule to see this.

Expanded...

We should change this sub rule to match our needs using the area at the bottom of the screen once the condition is selected.

Hit Save and your rule will be written into the database.

This is ok for us at this time, but feel free to add more conditions if need be...

Once happy, close this screen down to return to the previous screen. We can now right click on our rule to attach it to a letter of our choice, what this means is that when this rule is TRUE the item will be pre selected for us!

If you make a mistake you can remove a rule by right clicking on it.

Once your happy here you can close down this and document designer to move onto using the rules.
