Upgrading Traveller

Updating Traveller should be a painless process. It's recommended with any system or application change or upgrade that a full system backup is made and that a suitable time slot has been reserved in which to carry out the work. If you are unsure as to how long a Traveller upgrade will take on your data, then contact the Support Desk, who will be able to make an estimate.

Since Traveller version 6829, version 7.0 and below of Advantage is unsupported.

Q. Where to start with my Traveller Upgrade?

I have been sent a CD in the post (Request a CD)

I have downloaded the latest version from the website (Where do I download versions?)

-

I cannot run the installation becasue...

Users are logged into the system
Please check that all users are out of the system, if your positive they are, reboot the server and immediately after doing so, restart the installation.

There is Insufficient Disk Space
If setup detects insufficient disk space and you believe there be enough, contact support with the following information :
1) Operating system of Server
2) Operating system of machine running upgrade
3) Version of upgrade.
They, or yourselves can then follow the following checklist. It more than likely that setup has detected the space correctly and that work will need to be carried out on the server to clear enough room for the upgrade to continue.

Main Screen

The main upgrade screen (shown below) shows 3 options.

The following flowchart outlines the routes taken on each of these 3 buttons :

During the installation please try not to interrupt the computer running the upgrade, if for some reason there is a power cut or the installation is aborted for some other reason - and indeed if the installation reports errors upon completion using the system is normally permitted. The new technology is quite careful to keep the system usable in the case of unexpected failure. Regardless, if there is a problem contact support as soon as possible as they are best qualified to ensure that the system is in full working order.

Once you have successfully installed the new version of Traveller, please e-mail support to let them know so we can update our system. The new correct support e-mail address is UKTravel-Support@micros.com

We can then ensure you are always on the latest releases.
