Printer Changes
Redline

It has been a System requirement when using Traveller to always have a printer connected to your PC as in a number of situations information was automatically sent to the default printer.  As a consequence if a printer is not connected then Traveller would not start up. From release 6827 this restriction has been removed by request to help  businesses who wish to allow their employees to work from home where a printer may not always be a requirement or available.

The Printers screen below shows all documents with no printer selected. This is how Traveller should be set up to operate with no printer.

Having a valid printer installed is still recommended and the preferred mode of operation, even if that printer is a PDF writer (a software program that will produce documents in PDF format that can be saved to disk, these programs usually appear as a printer to the system and can be selected just like and instead of a physical printer). Some of the functionality that obviously relies on printers will not be as feature rich if no printer is attached.
