Since 6827 Traveller now employs locking on the CRS queue in a similar way to how client locking works, there are several advantages to this mechanism :
1) Only one clerk at a time has access to a single download file, this prevents the scenario where if 2 clerks download a booking at the same time, one of the downloads was likely to crash or abort halfway through processing.
2) Locking enables Traveller to retrieve a booking should it fail halfway through the download. Without locking this retrieval would be unsafe.
3) Users can now see which files on the CRS are locked and in use, this gives users the knowledge to only manipulate the CRS downloads that are not already being manipulated, saving their own time and increasing stability.

Below is a screenshot of the CRS Error Queue (CRS Queue in Auto process Mode). You can see the "!" indicating that this clients download file is in use.
Attempting to view a client that is in use will result in a dialog box with a brief message informing you about the lock.
Clients without the "!" mark are not currently in use.

In the circumstance where your system fails to download a booking you would previously have had to re download the booking from the GDS, unless special knowledge regarding the Traveller tables or Passport / Evolvi interface enabled you to do otherwise. From release 6827 the booking will be held on the queue, locked under your name, nobody else will be able to begin processing the booking - likewise you will not be able to open the booking in the queue yourself.

Using the menu option highlighted in red above you can unlock all the bookings on the Error Queue and resume your download without having to re download it! The following steps are recommended when using this option :
1) Quickly check the client you attempted to download into, has the booking begun to take form, that is are some fields filled and others empty? This will help you to decide whether you need to add or replace when you come to re download?
2) Check that other users not currently downloading to avoid any confusion between you unlocking the clients and beginning your download again. Your client will become locked again when you pick it back up.
Alternatively to unlock a specific booking when clicking on your download in the Error Queue screen the "Release Booking" button will appear (shown below) this will unlock just the one item.
-
To remove a booking from the queue use the standard "remove item". The booking will be deleted regardless of it's locking status - BEWARE! deleting items that are locked and genuinely in use is likely to cause problems (on both your workstation and that of the other user accessing the booking) - use with caution.
