6829 introduces a new version mechanism. This enables support engineers to establish exactly the build of Traveller you are running in order to effectively report problems or additional requests to development.
The release build is available from the Help ~> About menu, this build is not the actual compilation number, to retrieve this you must find the winicc.exe and bring up the properties.
This build number is very important, it is the actual compilation number for the build or version and together with the rest of the numbers in this field provides a conclusive route back to the source pool involved. Previously establishing the source pool would have been something Traveller developers would need to carry out.
